The CGT wood shredder series formerly known as Challenger wood grinder was developed in 1992, in order to offer to the market a size reduction technology, which works under heaviest conditions efficiently and reliably. The machine should be also characterised by small current consumption and low maintenance costs. The mechanic of the woodgrinder should do the job under 24/7-conditions. Special attention was put on the cutting system. The new developed cutting rotor for the Challenger carried out up to 3-5 time more than all well-known systems. For a aggressive size reduction system like this a conventional frame was not sufficient. The frame was designed very substantial. All parts were used in very heavy design. The result of this challenge was a wood grinder, which could be called with good reason the best woodgrinder of the world. We are proud that there are imitators, who copy still these machines in the USA.(Note)
CommonTec doesn't rest on it and developed constantly the machines, in order to be able to offer to the customer always the optimum, that it rightfully expected.
Today, the CommonTec wood grinder is still based on the challenger wood grinder, but with much more sophisticated accessories and technology. The former version of this wood grinder was regulated by the power consumption. Today all relevant components are equipped with sensors, in order to control the machine carefully to the maximum efficiency. All movements and forces at the machine are monitored. Possible overstress or power loss is recognized immediately, regulated and announced at a display. The hydraulic unit is equipped with proportional components, in order to speed up the time of reaction and is controlled by a high speed prozessor. The machine can be connected to the DCONTROL supervising system and operated in remote control.
